Ingredients

4 wholegrain crackers
4 slices reduced fat cheese

Method

Slice the cheese to fit the crackers. Top the crackers with cheese.

Tip

  • Pack crackers alongside sliced cheese squares or rectangles. Kids can then assemble themselves.
  • Choose crackers (not crisps) made with mostly wholegrain wheat, brown rice, corn or quinoa. Look for a Health Star Rating of 4 or more.
  • Making your own crackers and cheese is a lot less expensive than buying cheese and cracker snack packs.

Variation

Add toppings like sliced tomato, avocado, cucumber, pear or apple and try different cheeses such as fruit cheese.
