Ingredients

¾ cup rolled oats
¼ cup wholemeal plain flour
3 tbsp brown sugar
2½ tsp ground cinnamon
1½ tbsp margarine*, melted
6 apples, cored and diced
2 tbsp cornflour
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Olive oil spray

Method

Pre-heat oven to 180oC. Lightly spray a 20cm square tin with olive oil spray.

For the crumble topping, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in the melted margarine. Mix well to combine.

Toss the apples in the cornflour, remaining cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl until completely coated.

Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared tin and gently press down. Sprinkle evenly with the crumble topping. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crumble is golden.

*Dairy-free if using dairy-free margarine.
