½ cup rolled oats
2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
1 tbsp reduced-fat plain yoghurt
½ tsp honey
¼ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
½ cup reduced-fat milk
½ apple, chopped
Place all ingredients except the apple into a wide mouth plastic container or bowl. Place the lid on the container and shake well to combine (or stir if in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap).
Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve or pack, stir in chopped apple.
For Carrot Cake Overnight Oats, replace the apple, apple sauce and honey with ½ a grated carrot and ¼ cup of chopped dates.
